About English Grammar Quiz
Grammar is usually taught as a list of rules to memorise, which is why so many children can recite a rule and still write the sentence wrongly. This quiz takes the opposite approach: one topic per level, ten questions on that topic, and enough repetition within the level that the pattern becomes familiar before the next idea arrives. The thirty levels follow the NCERT English progression, so a child can start at the level matching their class rather than at the beginning.
What this game teaches
- Articles, plurals and the verb 'to be' at Class 1-2 level
- Pronouns, simple present and prepositions at Class 3
- Regular and irregular past tense, and question words, at Class 4-5
- Modals, conjunctions, future tense and adverbs at Class 6
- Comparison, perfect tenses, passive voice and reported speech at Class 7-8
- Conditionals, relative pronouns, gerunds and subject-verb agreement at Class 9-10
How to play
- A sentence appears with one word missing.
- Four options are offered. Tap the word that completes the sentence correctly.
- The correct sentence is read aloud, so the right form is heard as well as seen.
- Ten questions complete a level. Every level covers a different grammar topic and no question repeats anywhere in the game.
Before you start
A child should be able to read a short English sentence independently. The early levels use very simple vocabulary, so reading fluency matters more than grammar knowledge - the grammar is what the game is for.
For teachers
The level list doubles as a syllabus map: level 18 is conjunctions, level 25 is passive voice, level 30 is subject-verb agreement. That makes it straightforward to assign a specific level as revision after teaching a topic, rather than sending a class to the game generally. Every question carries its NCERT class band, so you can check at a glance whether a level suits the group in front of you.
For parents
Find your child's class in the level list rather than starting at level 1, which is aimed at six-year-olds. If they clear a level without mistakes, move on; if they make three or more errors, repeat that level before advancing. The Gujarati translation under each question is there for when the English sentence itself is the obstacle rather than the grammar.
