About the Physics question bank
Physics questions that start with things a child has already noticed - that dropped objects fall, that magnets pick up some metals and not others - and build toward the formulas that describe them. The early band assumes no vocabulary at all.
What the questions cover
- Std 1-4
- Gravity, magnets, states of matter, sources of light and how sound is made
- Std 5-7
- SI units, mirrors and lenses, the speed of sound, and simple circuits
- Std 8-12
- Newton's laws, Ohm's law, acceleration due to gravity and the speed of light
Questions from this bank
64 physics questions are available. A few, so you can judge the level before putting it in front of a class:
Class 1-4 · 16 questions
What do we get from the Sun?
Answer: Light and Heat
Which metal does a magnet attract?
Answer: Iron
Light travels in a _____ line.
Answer: Straight
Class 5-7 · 21 questions
What is the SI unit of force?
Answer: Newton
What is distance divided by time?
Answer: Speed
How many colors are in sunlight?
Answer: 7
Class 8-12 · 27 questions
What is the speed of light in vacuum?
Answer: 3 x 10^8 m/s
Newton's second law of motion gives which formula?
Answer: F = ma
What is Ohm's Law formula?
Answer: V = IR
Using it in class
The unit questions in the middle band are worth revisiting regularly. Students who cannot name the SI unit of force will struggle with every calculation that follows.
